Graduation of the first student intake of UPF

The academic graduation ceremony of the first student intake at UPF took place on 20 October at the Palau de la Música Catalana, comprising a total of 465 graduates: 90, in Law, 120 in Economic and Business Sciences, 53 in Journalism, 128 in Business Sciences, and 74 in Public Management and Administration. The farewell lecture to the new graduates was given by Carles Viver i Pi-Sunyer, magistrate of the Constitutional Court and the first dean of the Faculty of Law, and the awards to students with the best academic record were presented. This ceremony founded a tradition that would be repeated year after year.

The academic performance index of this first set of graduates was noteworthy: six out of every ten students graduated within the period foreseen. To help new graduates in their search for employment, a book of curricula was published containing al of their academic records including both a description of the degree course they completed as well as their knowledge of languages and computing, their work experience and their professional goals.
