On Monday, November 14, the graduation of the second year' class of Prometeus students was held in the Saló de Cent of the Barcelona City Hall. The event was attended by Ada Colau, mayor of Barcelona, and Jordi Martí, councilor of Culture, Education, Science and Community, among other authorities members of the consistory. Universitat Pompeu Fabra's Vice-Rector for Social Commitment and Sustainability, Ester Oliveras, and members of the University's Social Commitment Department also attended the event. 

The Prometeus program was promoted in the Raval neighborhood in the 2015-2016 academic year by the Associació Educativa Integral del Raval, together with two high schools in the neighborhood, and had the support of the Barcelona City Council and the public universities that we are involved there for combating inequality in education, in this case, in university centers.    

The program aims to provide social, academic and economic support to boys and girls in disadvantaged socioeconomic situation, in the transition from high school to university, and during the university stay, from one of the eight centers located in the neighborhood of Raval, Besòs, Verneda, Zona Norte or Poble Sec (Torre Baró, Ciudad Meridiana and Vallbona). In addition, this program has the help of mentors for these students Prometeus, who accompany them throughout their stay at the university to make them more enjoyable their passage through the institution.

The second graduation, organized by the Barcelona City Council and the entities managing the program, was attended by two students from UPF, who have completed a degree in Translation and Interpreting and a degree in Computer Engineering, respectively. With these two students we have now reached a total of five Prometeus students graduated from Pompeu Fabra University. We hope that the project will continue to bear fruit year after year.
