Article 13 of Law 40/2015, of 1 October, on the legal rules governing the public sector, sets out the procedure for determining substitutions in administrative bodies in the event of a vacancy, absence or illness.

In accordance with Article 54 of the Pompeu Fabra University Bylaws, in the event the rector is absent or indisposed or the position is otherwise vacant, the functions thereof shall be taken up by the vice-rector appointed thereby.

Whereas the rector shall be absent from Pompeu Fabra University during the period between 31 December 2023 and 5 January 2024, a substitute rector must be appointed to act in any situations which may arise.

In view of the foregoing, and by virtue of Article 52 of the Pompeu Fabra University Bylaws,

I HEREBY RESOLVE:

Solely: That the person who shall take up the rector’s functions during the period between 31 December 2023 and 5 January 2024, both inclusive, shall be the vice-rector for Knowledge Transfer, professor Vanesa Daza Fernández.

This arrangement must be expressly indicated in all resolutions and instruments issued during the period of substitution, specifying the holder of the office in which the substitution takes place (rector) and the appointed substitute.
