International research conference on the future of AI in the creation of digital content and its impact on the media sector. It deals with aspects such as the narrative capacity of AI tools, the ethical use of AI, creativity, copyright, and the redefinition of the actual concept of author. Recognized experts in the study of the impact of AI in the field of art and communication will be participating as well as developers of film creation and editing tools.

+RAINSIGHT, which takes place on June 11, will bring together leading research and industry profiles in generative AI. Issues related to the storytelling capabilities of this technology will be addressed, and the ethical, social, cultural, ecological, political and economic implications of AI will be discussed.

 

+RAINNOVA

Creation, Experimentation and production with Generative AI

+RAINNOVA, which will be held on June 12, is conceived as a space for the presentation of projects and developments in the process of creation, as well as for experimental testing of generative AI technological solutions applied to ideation, production and audiovisual editing.

International AI Film Festival

FEST

MediaComplex Auditorium

International festival of films created with AI exploring the intersection between cinematic storytelling and generative technologies. FEST includes the screening of a selection of the best films and discussions with their creators. An international jury will award the most innovative films that will also be showcased at Sónar+D.

Performative event that hosts music, audiovisual and installations generated with AI

LIVE

 

Poblenou Campus - Sala Aranyó

The event will be in Catalan, Spanish and English

Musical and audiovisual performative event of proposals with artificial intelligence. LIVE turns the Poblenou campus of the UPF into a space to enjoy live musical and audiovisual works based on research and experimentation with AI, as well as the aesthetic and narrative possibilities of creation with generative models.

Professional space designed for the connection between creators, software developers, producers and companies in the audiovisual and technological sectors.

Entry restricted to the public

A space for reflection, debate and exchange that will bring together international experts in AI and the audiovisual industry. During two hours they will address the challenges, opportunities and vectors of transformation of the audiovisual sector in the era of generative AI.

Participants will include filmmakers who are creating with AI; researchers in the field of AI creation; AI software developers for the audiovisual sector; jurists specializing in copyright; experts in ethics and emerging technologies; and producers and companies in the audiovisual sector.

FAIR is organized by Pompeu Fabra University, the Chair in Communication Futures and Sónar, with the collaboration of the Audiovisual Cluster of Catalonia.

The aim of these sessions is to shed a light on emerging talent that research, create, and embark on initatives in these fields, as well as to debate the relationship between creativity and emerging technologies; the ethical use of AI; copyright or the role of Web3 in the cultural and creative industries.

Emerging companies and spinoffs will be presented that develop technology and digital tools for the cultural industry and creative projects. 

These sessions aim to foster interaction between entrepreneurs, creators, investors, accelerators and incubators and professionals in these industries. A space for new relationships, initiatives, proposals and projects to emerge.

The Summit consists of two sessions that revolve around creativity and emerging technologies: Cinema & AI and Web3 and Expanded media.

+RAIN presents the its second edition awarded films and the winning work of Solo AI Award'24. It also presents two interactive installations: +RAIN LIVE digital archive, activated by the artist Azahara Cerezo, which collects and connects the musical and audiovisual proposals generated with artificial intelligence from the LIVE section of the Festival; and Latent Booth, an interactive experience co-created with Hugging Face that questions human-machine communication and will culminate in a collaborative film.
