+RAIN Film Festival

+RAIN 2026 will take place in Barcelona on 14, 15, 16 and 17 June at the Campus Poblenou of UPF, CCCB and the Filmoteca de Catalunya.

The +RAIN Film Festival is an international festival dedicated to AI-generated cinema and a meeting point for research, creation and critical thinking. The festival explores how AI is transforming the audiovisual field and digital culture from cultural, technological, political, economic and social perspectives

The programme combines screenings of international and local films, with the active participation of their creators, alongside academic talks, debates, live performances and working sessions, consolidating its position as a leading platform at the European level.

The festival, organised by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and directed by Frederic Guerrero-Solé, has grown into an initiative for interdisciplinary collaboration across the university, bringing together diverse fields of study. This also reflects a broader perspective: from audiovisual media toward the transformations that generative AI is bringing about in communication, the social sciences, and culture in general.
