International research conference on AI Narratives

International research conference on the future of AI in the creation of digital content and its impact on the media sector. It deals with aspects such as the narrative capacity of AI tools, the ethical use of AI, creativity, copyright, and the redefinition of the actual concept of author. Recognized experts in the study of the impact of AI in the field of art and communication will be participating as well as developers of film creation and editing tools.

  • 9:00 Presentation of the Conference by the Laia de Nadal, rector of the University Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona.

  • 9:05 Presentation of the +RAIN FIlm Festival by Jordi Balló, director of the Communication department, and Vladimir Estivill, director of of Information and Communications Technologies Department.

  • 9:15 Speech by Cristóbal Valenzuela, CEO of Runway, partner of the Festival.

  • 9:30 Presentation +RESEARCH Coloma Ballester & Frederic Guerrero-Solé.

  • 9:40 Speaker: Bill Cusick, creative director, Stability AI. Open Source Diffusion: Innovation, Community and Collective Intelligence.

FAIR

Marketplace with producers and companies of the audiovisual and technology sectors

Space for connection and exchange between filmmakers and audiovisual creation professionals who work with AI and producers and companies in the audiovisual and technology sectors. This fair connects international profiles that use AI in their production processes. It is a unique opportunity to obtain a mapping of the most outstanding works in the field of narrative and experimentation, exchange impressions and challenges, and take up positions in the face of the changes that AI is generating in the audiovisual industry.

Film festival with international call

Poblenou Campus - Àrea Tallers

Selected films frames and information and International Jury.

 

The +RAIN Film Fest's international call for films using AI models is focused on films that explore the narrative capabilities of this technology in their creation process. The +RAIN Film Fest invites filmmakers to present and discuss their work at public screenings to talk together about film narratives in this incipient moment of experimentation with generative AI, and how this new narratives define the audiovisual language of the future. An international jury will award the most innovative films to be shown at Sónar+D.

Performance of music and audiovisual proposals with AI

Poblenou Campus

14th June 2023. From 8:00pm to 11:00pm

LIVE event offers a unique musical and audiovisual experience composed of proposals that integrate artificial intelligence in their creative processes. The UPF Poblenou campus is transformed into a space where visitors can enjoy musical and audiovisual creations resulting from research and experimentation with AI. The event explores the aesthetic and creative possibilities of AI models and live coding.
