Basic Competences

BC 1: Possession of knowledge and understanding that provide a basis or opportunity for originality in developing and/or applying ideas, often within a research context.

BC 2: Ability to apply acquired knowledge and understanding and problem-solving abilities in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multi-disciplinary) contexts related to the field of study.

BC 3: Ability to integrate knowledge and handle complexity, and to formulate judgements with incomplete or limited information, including reflections on the social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of such knowledge and judgements. 

BC 4: Ability to communicate conclusions, and the knowledge and rationale underpinning them, to specialist and non-specialist audiences clearly and unambiguously.

BC 5: Possession of the learning skills needed to continue to study in a way that will be largely self-directed or autonomous.

The evaluation of the MECLAP subjects combines a formative dimension through continuous assessment (active participation in class, coursework, outlines, presentations, seminars, etc.) and a final evaluation through a final paper, or an exam, or both. The participation in class debates are part of the evaluation.

In any case, the Course Plans (PDA) specify the evaluation procedures and criteria. The lecturer determines, according to their own judgement and the subject characteristics, the continuous or final assessment methods.

Obtaining the degree depends on the making and public defence of the Master's Degree Final Project. An assessment board, appointed by the master's department comission, is responsible for the evaluation of the project. The reslut of this evaluation has academic effects for students that want to apply for the Humanities PhD.

MECLAP students have a double tutorial system. They have a "host" tutor that can help them with any question or orientation request during the whole academic year. Furthermore, while they settle on the object of study of their Master's Degree Final Project (MDFP), they can ask for a tutor from the teaching staff that they consider appropriate for the tutorship and academic management of their MDFP.

The MECLAP does not offer professional internships. However, the University makes available to students an internship scholarship through the Careers Service and, in the event that you wish to manage an internship agreement with a company that offers one, you can also contact this service, where they will guide you through all the procedures and manage the drafting and signing of the agreement.
