Genetically modified organisms and culture rooms

Do you have to genetically modify an organism as part of an experiment?

A genetically modified organism is a living organism whose genetic make-up has been modified using biotechnological techniques, either using the organism’s own genes or genes from outside of the organism, with the aim of giving it new properties.

To use genetically modified organisms (GMO) the activities must be authorised and registered. The facilities where the work is carried out must also be officially validated.

UPF has several validated rooms. Contact the management of the Mar campus for more information.
