Enric Argullol, first UPF rector, donates his law library to the University

The collection, which is of great academic interest, comprises some 3,500 volumes, belonging to the areas of administrative, autonomic, local administration, environmental, and regional law.

Enric Argullol i Murgadas, UPF rector between 1990 and 2001, and currently emeritus professor, has permanently donated his private law library to the University. The collection of books and journals consists of some 3,500 volumes of great value to teaching, study and research in the field of administrative, autonomic, local administration, environmental, and regional law.

Today, 5 June at noon, the UPF rector’s office hosted an act formalizing the donation, with the signature of an agreement between Jaume Casals, UPF rector, and Enric Argullol. It was attended by Pelegrí Viader, deputy vice-rector; Jaume Badia, manager; Mercè Cabo, deputy manager of the Services, Technology and Information Resources area; Montserrat Espinós, director of the Library, and Xavier Brunet, head of the Social Sciences and Humanities Thematic Unit.

The monographs and serial publications pertaining to the donation, which has been made in different deliveries since the 1997-1998 academic year and are now all catalogued, facilitate consultation and study on the thematic areas they deal with and enrich the University’s law library. Works on comparative administrative law stand out, and in particular, collections of law journals such as Revista crítica de Derecho inmobiliarioRevista española de Administración Pública and Anuario de Derecho Civil.

The University undertakes always to inform as to the source of these works, which will be identified in the Library as being “Donated by Enric Argullol i Murgadas”.
