A group of fifteen international students at the University have devised a digital campaign to fight prejudices about diversity and, specifically, to curb the rising Islamophobia in the city.

Through the Prejudice Test, the students want people to reflect on their own preconceived ideas about this issue. They claim that extreme Islamophobia is not yet present in Barcelona but there is a need to work preventively so that this sentiment does not spread through society.

The initiative comes from the master’s degree in Strategic Communications and Public Relations organized jointly by UPF and the University of Stirling (Scotland). It has the support of EdVenture Partners, a foundation of the United States, and will attend the forthcoming Barcelona vs. ODI International Conference.

Working together with Barcelona City Council

On 2 and 3 March, the Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB) will host the BCN vs. ODI conference: strategies to fight intolerance on social networks. The meeting is part of the “Barcelona, ​​city of rights” programme, promoted by the City Council to prevent and combat all forms of hate speech.

The UPF students will be taking part in the conference with the aim of sketching the current situation in the city, through the opinion of several experts who will intervene.
