UPF signs an agreement with the Confucius Institute Foundation in Barcelona to organize seminars in advanced Chinese Studies
Coinciding with the inauguration of the new seat of the Confucius Institute Foundation in Barcelona (FICB), a collaboration agreement has been signed between UPF and the institution. The ceremony was attended by the co-directors of the FICB, Chang Shiru and Àngels Pelegrín, and the UPF vice-rector for International Relations, Josep Ferrer.
The purpose of the agreement is to cooperate in and organize joint educational and cultural activities related to Chinese language and culture, as well as internships for UPF students at the FICB. These activities are part of the master's degree in Chinese Studies, but also will be part of training programmes in advanced Chinese studies at the FICB.
This will allow UPF master's degree students who participate actively in these seminars to be considered for all purposes students at the FICB. In turn, this will give them the right of access to the Foundation's scholarship programmes funded by Hanban (General Office of the Confucius Institute) in order to study and do research in China.
