The laboratories
Their creation was motivated by the 2010 arrival of different research groups from the Center for Brain and Cognition (CBC) at the Univeritat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and the need to have appropriate facilities for studies with adults and, especially, with children and babies (Infant Research Laboratory).
Our main objective is to provide the researchers with a work environment and equipment that allows them to develop the necessary studies in their research, using techniques to record the responses / reactions of the participants such as:
- Behavioral: where visual and / or auditory stimuli are presented, the participants respond using a keyboard or a microphone.
- Evoked potentials: where encephalographic recordings are used to observe the brain's activity of the subject.
- Follow-up of the eye gaze (EyeTracker): where we record what the participant is watching and for how long.
- Multisensory: where participants simultaneously receive different stimuli (tactile, visual and auditory) and the interaction between the different stimulation modalities is observed.
