For the third year in a row, the University is organizing the Barcelona International Summer School (BISS), a training programme that allows students to learn and study new subjects that are not on the curriculum. It takes place during the month of July and emphasizes the flexibility and cross-disciplinary nature of the modules taught.

The last edition received a total of 272 students, more than half of them international students from 42 different universities and from countries such as Brazil, Turkey, Lebanon, Argentina, Chile and the United States. The registration period for international students is now open and ends on 30 May.

This year, the training programme has been extended to think, reflect and go beyond traditional disciplines. In this edition, besides courses on political science, social movements, gender and humanities, others have been added on the subjects of journalism, film, audiovisual essay, economics and sport.

The Barcelona International Summer School enjoys the participation of UPF lecturers who will share their current research lines with the participating students from a theoretical, methodological and practical perspective.

The courses, which will be taught in Catalan, Spanish and English, are awarded credits (ECTS) for which UPF students can register as Free Elective Cross-Disciplinary credits. Registration dates for UPF students are 4 and 5 March and 15 April to 15 June. Places are limited and are awarded on a first come, first served basis.
