Analysis in terms of the performance of the TFG (2024)

29.01.2025

As every year, the Teaching Innovation and Quality Area of the Engineering Department School has analyzed the performance of the Final Degree Projects (TFG) in July, 2024. Below are the most significant conclusions based on overall results and specific results for each TIC degree and the Biomedical Engineering Degree.

Starting with general data, the following observations can be made:

  • A total of 168 TFGs have been submitted (130 ICT Degrees + 38 Biomedical Degree).
  • The average score is 8,52 (ICT) and 9,10 (BIO) when considering works rated between 5 and 10.
  • The mode is 9/10 (ICT) and 9,40 (BIO) and the standard deviation is 1.17 and 0,51 respectively.

Regarding specific data based on the degree, the following can be observed:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering (GEI)

  • 39 TFGs have been defended this year.
  • The minimum score remains at 6/10, and the maximum score remains at 10/10.
  • The mode has increased again by 0,5 points compared to the previous promotions, now at 9/10.
  • The average score is 8,45/10 (8,67/10 last year) and the standard deviation is 1,11 points.

Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Systems Engineering (GESA)

  • The number of TFGs that have been submitted this year is 28.
  • The lower limit of the score range is 5/10 and the maximum is 10/10.
  • The mode decreases from 9 to 8 and the standard deviation increase from 1.05 (– 0,31 points compared to the previous year) to 1,11 on 2024.
  • The average score is 8,53.

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Engineering in Data Science (GEMCD)

  • This year 52 TFGs have been defended.
  • The average score increases again to 8,67/10 (+ 0.20 points compared to the 2022 promotion.
  • The minimum score decreases again by 0,5 points, resulting in a score range between 5 and 10.
  • The mode remains at a value of 9, and the standard deviation, is 1,15.
