Gabriela de Lima Chehab is a PhD candidate in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at Pompeu Fabra University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mariano Torcal. She is funded by the AGAUR-FI (2024 FI-3 00065) Joan Oró pre-doctoral program of the Department of Universities and Research of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the European Social Fund Plus.

 

She is also a researcher at the Research and Expertise Centre for Survey Methodology (RECSM), focusing her research on political behaviour, affective polarization and democracy.  

 

Before entering the PhD programme, she completed a master's degree in Politics and Constitution at the Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden, Germany), focusing her studies on democratic erosion, autocratization, Latin America, democracy, political behaviour and social networks. During her master's degree, she also did Erasmus at Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic), taking classes on political extremism, democracy and social media. She also has a law degree from the University of Brasilia (UnB, Brazil).
