Miquel Llompart

I am a 'Beatriz Galindo' Research Fellow and Tenure-Track (i.e., Assistant) Professor in the Department of Translation and Language Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where I teach courses on linguistics and advanced English grammar and am an active member of the research group ALLENCAM (Language Acquisition from Multilingual Catalonia). Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Language and Cognition of the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) and a predoctoral researcher at the Institute of Phonetics and Speech Processing of the Ludwig Maximilian University Munich (LMU), where I received my PhD in 2019. I also hold an M. A. in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Arizona. My research interests are quite cross-disciplinary, spanning experimental phonetics, acoustics and audition, psycholinguistics, and first and second language acquisition. I currently serve as Associate Editor for Language and Speech, and am a member of the Editorial Board of Cognitive Linguistics. I am also guest-editing a Special Issue for Applied Psycholinguistics. When I am not working, I love going Modernist-façade-hunting in the city center, playing video games and reading fantasy and historical fiction.
