RICARDO BUENO
PhD Candidate

Ricardo Bueno holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Costa Rica and a Master’s Degree in Legal Sciences from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He is currently a PhD candidate at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, working under the supervision of Prof. Jose Juan Moreso Mateos. His research is funded through a scholarship awarded by the Law Department and carried out under a predoctoral research staff in training contract (PIPF).

His academic interests include the meta-theory of law, the methodology of legal philosophy, methodological naturalism, experimental jurisprudence, social ontology, and the nature of philosophical evidence. His doctoral research explores the prospects of naturalistic methods in analytical jurisprudence, with the aim of reframing traditional jurisprudential debates (concerning, for instance, the nature of law and law’s normativity) in terms that are amenable to evidence-based empirical approaches
