Post-doctoral Researcher (January 2017-August 2018); Collaborating Member

I am a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Law at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, working as part of the Family Justice project. Prior to arriving in Barcelona, I completed a D.Phil in political theory at the University of Oxford, where I wrote a dissertation titled “Procreative Justice: The Ethics of Creating and Raising Children.” I work on a variety of issues related to intergenerational and family justice, though I am particularly interested in developing an account of the rights and obligations of procreators with respect to the children they bring into existence. While at Pompeu Fabra, I plan to continue my research on procreative ethics by considering how just societies ought to approach the regulation of emerging reproductive technologies that may enable parents to choose, in various ways, the traits of their offspring.
