For the admission to the CIEL Program there are three possible paths, taking into account that you must comply with the general requirements of the Program.
IMPORTANT: the student must apply in due time for the admission at the host university. The admission in the CIEL Program by the UPF does not automatically grant the admission at the host university. It is the duty of the students to get information and to carry out all the steps for the admission at the host university.
- Access through the Erasmus+ Program
Students that are eligible because of their nationality to the Erasmus+ Program will be selected through a competitive call each October/November of the academic year. For participating in the Erasmus+ Program, students must have the nationality of some of the States part of the Program o, in case of third nationalities, to certify to hold a valid permit for staying in Spain for all the duration of the academic activity.
The resolution of the call awards both a position in the CIEL Program and a scholarship for supporting the academic stay under the rules of the Erasmus + Program.
Call: each October/November. The call will determine the number of positions, as well as the procedure and the documentation to attach.
Support: Scholarship under the rules of the Erasmus+ Program.
- Access outside the Erasmus+ Program
Students that, because of their nationality or other circumstances, are not able to participate in the Erasmus+ Program or, they did not obtain a position under the Erasmus+ Program, can be selected to the CIEL Program without the support of a scholarship.
Call: open all the academic year. In any time, students can submit their application before the Administrative Support (40.059)
Support: no scholarship.
- Access through undergraduate studies
Undergraduate students which carried out an interchange in some of the universities part of the CIEL Program during undergraduate studies, may qualify for the CIEL Program. These students should have done the interchange during the 4 year of their undergraduate degree and they should have, during the undergraduate interchange, a minimum of 180 credits ECTS. Only the postgraduate courses undertaken during the undergraduate interchange program can be taken into account to the effects of the 30 credits ECTS that are necessary for obtaining the CIEL mention.
Scholarship: Scholarship under the rules of the Erasmus+ Program (call launched, solved and enjoyed during the undergraduate studies).
