Sergio Giraldo is a post-doc, researcher at the Music Technology Group (MTG) (Music and Machine Learning Lab) of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies from the Pompeu Fabra University. He is also currently the coordinator of the Audiovisual Engineering Program at the Engineering school of the Pompeu Fabra University as well as a full time professor at the same institution. His main research activity has been done since 2011 within the areas of Machine Learning, Data Mining, applied to the fields of Expressive Music Performance Modelling, Emotion detection with brain computer interfaces, Automatic Music Transcription, and Music Learning and Teaching Technologies. He has long teaching experience at both undergraduate, and Master degree courses, within the areas of Computer Science, Audiovisual Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, including courses in Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning. He has participated as tutor and jury for thesis at Under graduate, Master and PhD levels, within the above mentioned areas of research. He participates as a reviewer for journal publications at Frontiers Journal, and at other international conferences in Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence related topics.
