The film portrays a fantasy world in which traditional gender roles are reversed.
In this world, women are born with natural weapons — their long fingernails. These nails can be used for anything: hunting, fighting, even giving birth. They give women power. The nails give them power.
Men, on the other hand, must endure great suffering — just as women have throughout real-world history.
The film poses a provocative question:
“What if women used their power the way men do today?”
