• Who is a mentor?

A third or fourth-year student of the BA in Politics and Administration Sciences who wants to guide first year students through their university adjustment process.

 

  • What do I have to do to sign up?

You will have to complete a form.

 

  • What are the benefits of participating in the Mentoring Programme?

- Obtaining 2 RAC credits.

- Development of new skills and interpersonal competencies that can be transferred to professional life and other areas of life.

- Adoption of a more complex university perspective.

- Development of a sense of self-esteem and personal satisfaction.

- Development of a capacity to listen, to solve problems and to know how to explain and find the necessary information to solve doubts.

 

  • What tasks does a student mentor have?

- Attend a training session at the beginning of the academic year. This session will address what is expected of a mentor and what are the key services of the university.

- Attend the Course ‘Introduction to University’ directed to first-year students. A first contact will be made with the mentored students.

- Propose an initial meeting to first-year students to introduce yourself and communicate them the information that is of most importance.

- Have availability during the course to answer emails or meet (virtually or in person) with mentored students.

- Contact the coordinator in case there is an incident and respond when he contacts you at the end of the first and second quarter requesting a brief assessment of the Mentoring Program.

- Prepare a report at the end of the course (June) on how the Mentoring Program has been developed. The report will be essential to obtain the RAC credits.
