Professor of communication theories and quantitative research methods in the Communication Department at Pompeu Fabra University. Currently, I am the coordinator of the PhD Program in Communication of the Department. I hold a PhD in public communication (UPF, 2011), and I have degrees in Theoretical Physics (UB, 1996) and Slavic Philology (UB, 2006).
My current research lines are focused on Generative Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the creation and reception of audiovisual culture. I am the director of the +RAIN Film Festival, the first European festival dedicated to films made with AI.
I have also dedicated my work to study the effects of the media and the analysis of the structure of social networks in political communication. I have published articles in journals such as Information, Communication and Society, Social Media + Society, Social Science Computer Review, Communications, among others. I was the Principal Investigator of the DATAPOP project on populism and social networks, funded by MICINN/AEI between 2019 and 2022.
Research lines: Generative Artificial Intelligence, cultural creation and reception; Analysis and experimentation with Generative Artificial Intelligence models for audiovisual storytelling; Structure of social networks and political communication.
