Prizes awarded to the best doctoral thesis in Catalan (2023-2024)

At its meeting of 18 December 2023, the Assessment Committee decided to award:

1. Rosa Gornés Gomis with first prize for her doctoral thesis entitled “La Societat Maonesa (1778-1785) i les traduccions a Menorca al segle XVIII” (Societat Maonesa (1778-1785) and translations in Menorca in the 18th century), endowed with 3,000 euros.

2. Berta Moya Avilés with a runner-up prize for her doctoral tesis entitled “Atenuació de la crítica en llengua de signes catalana (LSC): l'opinió restringida com a estratègia mitigadora” (Attenuation of criticism in Catalan Sign Language (LSC): restricted opinion as a mitigating strategy), endowed with 750 euros.

3. Júlia Vilasis Pamos with a runner-up prize for her doctoral thesis entitled “Identitat gamer, classe social i gènere. Una anàlisi dels discursos del col·lectiu adolescent sobre la cultura del videojoc i les pràctiques videolúdiques” (Gamer identity, social class and gender. An analysis of teenagers’ discourses on videogame culture and gaming practices), endowed with 750 euros.
