It is an activity that is free of charge and an addition to applying to have credits from recognosed, students can also participate in all the free activities organised.

  • Attending 8 sessions + 1 Viquipèdia entry: 1 ECTS crèdit

You can also participate even if you are not part of the UPF community. Please write to [email protected] for more information.

Why is this an offline space?

Wikipedia is a Wiki, i.e. a collaborative website that can be edited online. Users can create, modify the contents of a page, ask for help, reach a consensus in an interactive way, etc.

Then why work offline?

Especially when you begin to edit a Wiki, you need a good deal of help. Personalized guidance helps you move forward more quickly and more confidently.

And what does this space offer?

It is crucial to have a permanent physical space where Wikipedia is discussed. Putting 'a face' on Wikipedia makes it feel more personal, more relevant to all of us.

This is a place where it is easy to ask people questions face to face and have your doubts solved in a group setting.

The reassurance of having a space that is free and open to everyone, a place where you don't need to sign up in advance and you can come to whenever you want. You don't need to know about editing, and you can edit in the language in which you feel most comfortable. This all makes editing and content creation so much easier.

A thriving meeting place that is a permanent activity hub where you can organize events. Every Tuesday it becomes a place to go to share ideas, design projects and participate in different schemes that are designed to eliminate the gender gap.

How the sessions works

The sessions do not have a start or end time. Everyone learns at their own pace, based on what they already know and their own learning style. There are people who go to the sessions almost every week, while some just go to answer the odd query, and others only come once.

In the third term of the 2025-2026 academic year, the sessions will take place online, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on the following Tuesdays: 7 April, 21 April, 5 May, 19 May and and 2 June.
