Inner speech is a mental phenomenon that occurs about 25% of the time we are awake, it is the "inner voice" in our head or the "thinking in words". The aim of the project is to design a model to examine the profile of inner speech in people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), which will contribute to the knowledge about cognitive processes in ASD and to the philosophical and psychological discussions about the relationship between inner speech and thought. It highlights the importance of understanding inner speech for the study of ASD and, specifically, its influence on executive function and self-regulation tasks. The project will be developed in close collaboration with families, professionals and autism associations.
