Explicit Instruction or Lecture
Methodology in which the teacher presents content through explanatory or demonstrative sessions.
How does it work?
This is the most traditional teaching approach. In this methodology the teacher is understood to be the transmitter of knowledge. The explicit instruction method can be applied to face-to-face or online classes whether these be synchronous (video conferences) or asynchronous (audiovisual clips).
Phases or Stages:
- Teacher prepares the session according to the learning objectives
- Presentation of the session
- Assessment of knowledge acquired by students
- Come with teaching-learning methodologies.. Professor Josep Capdeferro, from the Department of Law, tells us about his experience with the expository method.
