Alba Milà-Garcia holds a bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2009), a master’s in Training of Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language from Universitat de Barcelona and Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2011) and a PhD in Translation and Language Sciences from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2017). Her research focuses on pragmatics (particularly on politeness, face and speech acts), conversation analysis and spoken language, and neology.

Since the year 2013-2014 she is a Teaching Fellow in the bachelor’s degrees of Translation and Interpreting and Applied Languages at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where she teaches subjects such as Catalan Language, Comparative Use of Catalan-Spanish and Editing and Proofreading. Together with Elisenda Bernal and Judit Freixa, she is the content manager of the Neolosfera (<neolosfera.wordpress.com>), an online academic resource for Catalan neologisms created by the Observatori de Neologia. Finally, she works as a translator, a proofreader and a typesetter, with a focus on academic works.
