Laura Acosta-Ortega is Assistant Professor at Northeastern University London and lecturer on the MA in Teacher Training for Spanish as an additional language at SDI International Hochshule München. Previously, she has worked at Oxford University, Universitat Pompeu Fabra and Universidad Europea de Madrid. She holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting from Pompeu Fabra University (2008), a Master's degree in Teacher Training for Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language from the University of Barcelona and Pompeu Fabra University (2013) and a PhD in Translation and Language Sciences from Pompeu Fabra University (2019). Her research interests focus on the analysis and teaching of spoken interaction and the use of discourse markers in interaction.
