The Academic Committee of the Doctoral Program in Law performs the following functions:

  1. Define, update and guarantee the quality and coordination of the Doctoral Program in Law.
  2. Organize, design and coordinate the Doctoral Program in Law.
  3. Establish the system of supervision of doctoral students, and the tutoring program.
  4. Provide the necessary support for the preparation of the document of personalized activities of the doctoral student.
  5. Establish additional requirements and criteria for the admission of students to the Doctoral Program in Law, if necessary.
  6. Designate the tutor for each doctoral student or its modification, if applicable.
  7. Designate the thesis direction or its modification, if applicable.
  8. Authorize or revoke the thesis co-direction.
  9. Authorize or revoke the thesis co-supervision.
  10. Authorize the doctoral student's stays abroad.
  11. Authorize the presentation of theses by each doctoral student.
  12. Authorize part-time doctoral studies.
  13. Authorize the extension of the term of presentation of the thesis.
  14. Decide on the temporary leave of a doctoral student.
  15. Determine the exceptional cases in which the publicity of certain aspects of the thesis does not correspond.
  16. Evaluate annually the doctoral student's activity document and the reports of the tutor and the thesis supervisor.
  17. Evaluate annually the doctoral student's research plan and the reports of the tutor and the thesis supervisor.
  18. Decide on the award of scholarships within the framework of the Predoctoral Scholarship Program for the Doctorate in Law at UPF.
  19. Others functions attributed to it by the general legislation or regulations of the UPF or the Regulations of the Postgraduate and Doctoral School.
