During the first quarter of the 2021-2022 academic year, the following mandatory face-to-face training activities will be scheduled:
- Students will receive a doctoral course, taught by a professor of recognized international prestige (26h).
- Three methodological sessions will be conducted by professors of the Department of Law (6h), one of which will be dedicated to the elaboration of the research project.

The seminar aims to discuss and investigate the potential of comparative law to examine the functioning of legal institutions in a globalized world, in which the phenomena of integration, harmonization and transplantation of normative designs are kept in tension.
The proposal is to address the issues concerning what and how to compare. This requires analysing functionalist and cultural approaches, as well as their areas of contact with legal history, anthropology, constitutionalism, human rights, political philosophy, semiotics and language as conditions.
These developments will be combined with some alternatives offered by justice to achieve the protection of rights using comparison as the main methodology.
