CRITICC is a research group in communication, from a multidisciplinary perspective. Based on the critical studies of communication, we analyze the processes of communication ranging from interpersonal communication to hegemonic narratives in society, from a historical and structural approach. The group's priority is the analysis of power relations as a cross-sectional phenomenon of communicative practices. The influence processes of interest groups are a good example of how communication is managed strategically to achieve and maintain power. The different research lines of CRITICC draw from this critical approach to examine diverse communicative phenomena.

Main research lines:

  • Communication and influence groups (think tanks, lobbies and other groups)
  • Communication, gender, and sexualities
  • Intercultural communication
  • Critical history of strategic communication
  • Critical animal studies and environmental ethics
  • Interpersonal communication, ethnomethodology and discourse analysis
