The Department of Communication of the Pompeu Fabra University offers the possibility of carrying out research stays, of a minimum of one continuous month and a maximum of two years, to researchers from other state and international centers through the UPF Visiting Research Program (Visiting Scholars).

The endorsement of a member of the permanent or permanent teaching staff or the group of ICREA researchers linked to the Communication department is required.

At the end of the stay, the researcher must deliver a summary of the activity at the center.

Deadline to submit applications: open all year

  • Identification card: the Secretariat will provide a UPF visiting researcher card that shows the name and the period of the stay. This card is necessary to identify yourself at the different UPF Campuses.
  • Access to the UPF Campus Wi-Fi network.
  • Access to UPF computers.
  • Library loan: You will have the same conditions as any UPF professor (30 documents on simultaneous loan, loan from the library consortium network, non-free interlibrary loan).
  • Certificate of Stay.
Interaction of the rest of the academic body with visitors
To get the most out of the stays of external professors and researchers, the Department will encourage the participation of visiting researchers in the different academic activities that may take place during their stays: CORE, doctoral seminars, congresses and conferences, etc.

People interested in applying to be admitted as visiting researchers at the Department of Communication, within the framework of the Pompeu Fabra University Visiting Researchers Program, must register their admission application and attach the following documentation:

  • Curriculum vitae (mandatory documentation)
  • Brief biographical note of 5 lines maximum (mandatory documentation)
  • Copy of the ID card/Passport (mandatory documentation)
  • Photograph (optional documentation)

Electronic registration request (preferably)

You can submit the application and documentation electronically by attaching it to the electronic general instance that you can find in the Online Office, in the catalog of procedures.

You must complete this general electronic request indicating:

  • in the REQUEST section (in lowercase and Catalan, as it is written): Sol·licitud d'admissió al Programa d'investigadors visitants del Departament de Comunicació

Registration request in person

You can submit the application and documentation in person at the University's General Registry. The application must be original and signed by hand (photocopies or electronically signed forms are not accepted for in-person registration).

You can also present it in any of the places provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure of public administrations.

At the end of the stay, researchers may apply for a certificate of stay. To request the certificate of stay researchers must submit at a general request and attach the following documentation:
