Renewal of the Ideograma - UPF Chair of Political Communication and Democracy
This Friday, December 17, 2021, the signing of the agreement for 3 more years of validity of the Ideograma Chair - UPF has been carried out
Oriol Amat, rector of UPF and Antoni Gutiérrez-Rubí, founder of ideograma, signed the agreement to renew the Chair for 3 more years of collaboration between UPF and ideograma, in which research activities will continue to be carried out , knowledge transfer and training.

For his part, Antoni Gutiérrez-Rubí has assured that "in ideogram we are convinced of the need to improve the relationship between the professional and academic world. And this chair is one more step in the task that we carry out in this regard". In addition, he added that "one of the new challenges that arise is the internationalization of the chair, both in the field of research and in the transfer of knowledge."
A productive collaboration
The Chair, created in September 2018, has been constantly active in the area of research and knowledge transfer in society. [see Chair's projects]

In the field of research, a line of research focused on informative credibility has been created, from which various studies and published articles have been derived. This past year, research on credibility has been linked to the issue of Covid-19 and its relationship with citizen misinformation. One of the published articles, “Perceived Credibility of Tweets by Opinion Leaders During the COVID-19 Pandemic in Spain”, has been selected as one of the ten best Political Communication articles of the year by La Revista ACOP (Asociación de Comunicación Política).

Finally, the lines of the future projects of the Chair for the year 2022 were explained, such as the continuation of the Ideograma Chair Award - UPF, the holding of a workshop on hate speech and the expansion of credibility research, among others.

Promoting teaching, research and the dissemination of knowledge in the field of public communication, including political and institutional communication, is the main objective of the Ideograma-UPF Chair of Political Communication and Democracy, created jointly by Ideograma and UPF in 2018, and linked to the Research Group on Politics, Media and Democracy (POLCOM) of the Academic Coordination Unit (UCA) of Communication of the University.
