Dipòsit de les Aigües

Imatge inicial
  • Year: 1874
  • Architects: Josep Fontserè y Antoni Gaudí
  • Renovation: 1999

This building was renovated by Lluís Clotet and Ignacio Paricio.

A former water tower in the shape of a hypostyle hall reminiscent of the Basilica Cistern in Istanbul. A labyrinth of arches rising 14 metres high offers a spectacular visual play on the history of architecture. It currently houses a large reading room of the UPF Library.

Thinking Refuges

Imatge inicial
  • Year: 2023
  • Author: Isaac Cordal

Installation made with wood, resin, methacrylate and led lights, in which Isaac Cordal makes an intervention in the furniture of the Library of the UPF (Dipòsit de les Aigües): he transforms a bookshelf into a building in which "each shelf it becomes a room, a refuge, a thinking cabin. A place to isolate yourself, in which to reflect on the world. A bunker in front of the harassment of the world”. Through several windows, you can see inside these rooms some small characters, in different positions.
