TIDE introduces a new platform for innovative education: the Augmented Assessment Library

10.11.2023

As part of the "Digital Transformation for Educational Innovation and Inclusion" conference, the TIDE research group, represented by Dr. J. Roberto Sánchez Reina, unveiled the Augmented Assessment Library, a pioneering initiative to address inclusive education for migrant children. Dr. Sánchez's presentation focused on the crucial role of teacher community platforms in promoting the collaborative creation of inclusive learning materials, as displayed in the Augmented Assessment Library.

The conference took place on November 2nd in the city of Thessaloniki, Greece, and was organized by the general project managers from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). The event had over one hundred attendees, mostly young teachers. As part of his intervention, Dr. Sánchez shared some highlights to describe the contribution of the TIDE research group to the Augmented Assessment Project. Here, we share some key ideas:

Key Highlights:

  • Educational Platforms: Sánchez highlighted the significant impact of educational platforms in modern learning, emphasizing the need for customization. Regarding this point, Dr. Sánchez presented a quick overview of the ILDE infrastructure: a tech solution to connect educators and students in creating and sharing resources.
  • Augmented Assessment Library: Developed under the Augmented Assessment Project, ILDE+ expanded to cater to a new platform: the Augmented Assessment Library. The platform is an online repository of augmented assessment resources for migrant students.
  • Features and Functions: The Augmented Assessment Library, co-created by educators and researchers, offers a "Library" of augmented assessment questions supported with 3D animations created with virtual reality.
  • Innovative Education for Inclusion: Platforms such as the Augmented Assessment Library exemplify a commitment to accessibility, adaptability, and tailored learning to address the current challenges in education, particularly when working with migrant children.
