ECERM va ser fundat per quatre historiadors del Departament d'Humanitats de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), que han contribuït a la renovació historiogràfica de l'estudi de les primeres etnografies modernes, els contactes interculturals i les missions religioses en els imperis ibèrics. També comptem amb membres externs amb els que cooperem de manera regular.
ECERM International Workshop: The Boxer Codex - Colonial Ethnography in the Spanish Philippines
ECERM ha organitzat un workshop internacional dedicat al Boxer Codex que comptarà amb la participació de of George Bryan Souza (University of Texas at San Antonio), Manel Ollé (UPF-ECERM), Joan-Pau Rubiés (ICREA-UPF-ECERM), Isaac Donoso (Universitat d'Alacant) i Chen Tsung-jen (Academia Sinica). Aquest event tindrá lloc el 23 de setembre a la Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Campus de la Ciutadella, Sala de Graus 20.287. Programa detallat a continuació.
