This work gives an insight on the contemporary inequality in access to information and media, and its correlation with inequality in economic income. According to this essay's abstract:
"This work presents ideas and reflections on the problem of inequality income and its relationship with the news. A general state of the art is described: the relationship of the media, especially the digital news media, with economic inequality, and its many related aspects. This essay provides perspectives on the subject or related perspectives, such as social classes. There is also discussion about the ownership of the media or the multiple variables that unevenly influence how we access, or avoid, the news. Information equity is on the horizon. Anyone interested should be guaranteed reasonable access to quality news in order to forge their own opinion and, therefore, to be able to decide on any aspect of society. This is what It makes democracies strong".
