The UPF awards grants to fifteen social commitment and sustainable development projects in the 2025 call.
The Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) has resolved to fund a total of fifteen projects within the framework of the call for economic aid for social commitment and sustainable development projects for the year 2025.
The Evaluation Committee, responsible for selecting the recipients of the grants, was chaired by the Vice-Rector for Social Commitment and Sustainability, Eva Pujadas Capdevila, and was composed of representatives from the university community and expert individuals.
This year, the call has launched a new line, aimed at social commitment projects linked to micro-actions related to the promotion of the circular economy or one of the 3 "R"s of the environment (reduce, recycle, reuse) within the UPF university community.
This call has received 25 applications, 5 more than the previous year. It has included applications from various profiles within the university community, including 9 applications from Alumni, 8 from Teaching and Research Staff (PDI), 3 from Technical, Management, and Administration and Services Staff (PTGAS), 3 from students, and 1 retired PTGAS. This diversity of applicants highlights the broad interest and commitment of the UPF community to social and sustainable development projects.
The subsidized projects address a wide range of themes and will be carried out in various countries, reflecting a global impact. The funded initiatives will be developed in places such as Nepal, Burkina Faso, Afghanistan, Senegal, and Mali, and in Catalonia.
These grants underscore the UPF's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote social commitment and sustainable development through collaboration with various entities and with a focus on different realities at the international level.
