Three TransCOR members, Mariana Lourenço, Adriana Modrego, and María Pérez, took part in the Setmana de la Ciència this past November with the activities “Podem detectar càncer de pell automàticament utilitzant intel·ligència artificial?” and “La Ciència secreta del so: escolta la diferència.”

These outreach sessions showed how science and technology can be explored in an engaging, hands-on way. In the first workshop, participants discovered how AI can support skin cancer detection using simple Python tools for melanoma image classification and segmentation. In the second, they experimented with how different environments, speaker designs, and microphones shape the sounds we hear. Together, these activities made complex scientific ideas accessible, interactive, and fun for all audiences.
