Translational Computing in Cardiology Research Group

TransCOR (Translational Computing in Cardiology Research Group) is an interdisciplinary research group whose main objective is to improve clinical decision-making, information pipelines and research, by developing and translating computational techniques to automatically analyze and interpret complex multimodal data to the hospital systems. Our main field of application is cardiovascular diseases, where we combine knowledge on haemodynamics, physiology and computational biophysics with machine learning to develop new models able to automatically analyze different information sources (ultrasound, magnetic resonance, synchrotron, ECG) and extract robust and interpretable biomarkers of alterations from normality. We also focus on the deployment of these models to medical centers, to allow its clinical translation and be of utility to medical doctors, by developing web-services that allow to use these models from the hospitals.

Main research lines:

  • Interpretable machine learning for the analysis of multimodal medical data
  • Computational models of the cardiovascular system
  • Image analysis and processing, especially of ultrasound and synchrotron.
  • Web-based architectures for medical data storage and analysis
  • Congenital cardiac pathologies and syndromes
