TOPCRIT: The Other Postcriticism aims to produce a richer, more inclusive understanding of the concept of postcritique by studying the work of contemporary women writers and scholars.

This EU-funded project brings crucial attention to the pioneering role of women in contemporary literary-critical culture. Working at the cutting edge of debate on the functions, forms, and futures of criticism, this interdisciplinary project harnesses a combination of high-impact publication and creative public outreach to document and disseminate experimental literary-critical writing by women, offering the first account to date of women’s contributions and challenges to the post-critical paradigm.

The project's key outputs include the first major study of the Canadian poet and classicist, Anne Carson. Anne Carson: The Glass Essayist by Elizabeth Sarah Coles was published in September 2023 by Oxford University Press.

A cycle of public events exploring the lecture as performance is scheduled for autumn 2024.
