On February 13, 2025, Claudia Rosignoli gave a talk on “Prevention of Violence Against Women Through Arts and Culture” to the students of Power and Gender Diversity in the Media, invited by Professor Pilar Medina.
About the Talk
The presentation explored how cultural projects can address women’s rights and contribute to preventing and responding to gender-based violence by leveraging the transformative power of arts and culture. Through the analysis of various international initiatives, it highlighted how cultural participation fosters emotional healing, self- empowerment, awareness, education, and policy advocacy. By drawing connections between gender power dynamics and media representation, the session showcased cultural interventions that challenge dominant narratives, promote gender diversity, and advocate for structural change.
