Biography note

Mar Guerrero-Pico works as a lecturer in the Department of Communication at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain), where she is also a member of the MEDIUM Research Group. Her thesis titled 'Historias más allá de lo filmado: fan fiction y narrativa transmedia en series de televisión' explores fans’ textual production in television-based transmedia storytelling. Her articles have been published in peer-review journals such as New Media & Society, Learning, Media and Techonology, International Journal of Communication, Comunication & Society, Palabra Clave, and Cuadernos.info, among others. Her research interests include fan culture, transmedia storytelling, television. Her studies on media literacy as a tool for the future have had a significant academic impact.
