MANDATORY DOCUMENTS
- Official undergraduate degree/diploma or equivalent, if you haven't finished your studies a signed declaration of obtaining your degree before the commencement of the master's programme. Qualifications can be in the following academic areas: social sciences, such as Communication, Sociology or Political Sciences) or in the field of Art and the Humanities, or in the field of ICT. (Students coming from studies that are not in the field of Communication will have to take bridging courses. These bridging courses will be adapted to the student, if the student holds or not a minor or postgraduate in Digital Communication, Multimedia Design or similar).
- Academic transcript of the accredited official training with the average grade at the university of origin.
If the diploma or the academic transcript are not written in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Portuguese or Italian, you will also have to include the respective sworn translations into Catalan or Spanish.
- Curriculum vitae in Catalan, Spanish or English.
- Statement of purpose (motivation letter or video) in English, explaining the candidate’s interest in enrolling on the master’s degree programme (in the case of video, approximately 4’ in length)
- English level B2 of the CEFR or equivalent. Applicants from countries in which English is the official language will be exempted from this requirement.
- Two letters of academic or professional recommendation
In order to optimise the treatment and security of the recommendation letters, the candidate will have to request those via the online application system, where he/she will need to indicate the e-mail adress of the person/the persons he/she wishes to be recommended by. That person will receive an e-mail indicating that the candidate wishes a recommenation letter from him/her. The letter will be uploaded by the referee in the online application system. Non-institutional addresses such as *yahoo, *gmail, *hotmail, etc... will not be accepted.
OPTIONAL DOCUMENTS
- Proof of at least three years’ work experience in a field related to the subject area of the master’s programme.
- Proof of at least one year of research experience.
- Proof of teaching experience.
Admission criteria
In the candidate selection process, the following assessment criteria will be applied (maximum 10 points):
First phase (up to 9 points):
- Academic record of the accredited official training, with the average grade of the university of origin (maximum 3 points).
- Curriculum vitae written in English (maximum 2 points): academic, research and professional experience in the field of social sciences, communication, humanities and design and digital arts will be valued.
- Letter or video in English showing the motivation (in the case of the video, lasting approximately four minutes), in which the applicant expresses the interest in pursuing the master's degree (maximum 2 points).
- Two academic or professional letters of recommendation (maximum 1 point).
- Accreditation of English level C1 or higher of the Common European Framework of Languages or equivalent (maximum 1 point). Clarification: the B2 level that appears in the access requirements is considered the minimum essential level; instead, level C1 is considered part of a scoring system aimed at prioritizing the best candidates.
Only students who pass the first phase will go to the second phase.
Second phase (up to 1 point):
- Personal interview (maximum 1 point). The interview will make it possible to clarify or outline aspects of the candidates' curriculum and to distinguish between students with similar records.
