Ivana N. Arsić

I am a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University Pompeu Fabra, specializing in the study of religious and cultural interactions in medieval and early modern Iberia. My research focuses primarily on the experiences of minority communities, with a particular emphasis on the role of women in preserving religious and cultural heritage amidst socio-religious conflicts. With a background in history, classical studies, and cultural anthropology, I employ interdisciplinary methodologies to explore the complexities of crypto-religious identities. I am deeply interested in how historical narratives of marginalized groups can influence contemporary discussions on cultural diversity and tolerance. My research has been published or is forthcoming in a monograph, two co-edited thematic volumes, and numerous peer-reviewed papers. My forthcoming book is currently under contract with Brill and scheduled for publication in 2025.
