First In-Person VISTA-SL Meeting and Multiplier Event Held in Athens

One month ago, members of the VISTA-SL project consortium (funded by Erasmus+) met in Athens for our first in-person project meeting. This gathering provided an essential opportunity for partners to present and align the progress made so far across all work packages. With productive discussions and collaborative planning, we strengthened our shared vision for advancing innovation in Sign Language education.
On the following day, the consortium hosted the first VISTA-SL Multiplier Event with the support Greek National Institute for the Deaf. The event has the participation of key members of the Greek Deaf community as well as stakeholders in Sign Language education, whose feedback and perspectives are crucial in ensuring that VISTA-SL responds to real-world needs in inclusive and impactful ways. During the event, UPF-GTI presented Animics and Performs, two web-based tools for the synthesis and visualisation of Sign Language animations for virtual characters. It was a great pleasure to connect, exchange insights, and showcase the ongoing development of our AI-powered VISTA-SL platform, designed to enhance the teaching and assessment of Sign Languages.
Both activities contributed significantly to strengthening collaboration within the consortium and to reinforcing engagement with end users. The feedback gathered in Athens will support the continued improvement of the platform and our tools.
