Workshop on Tense and Aspect in Analytic Forms (TAAF)
The Department of Translation and Language Sciences and the Formal Linguistics Group (GLiF) successfully hosted the first Workshop on Tense and Aspect in Analytic Forms (TAAF), held at UPF from 28 to 29 May 2026. Our invited speakers were Hamida Demirdache (LLING, UMR 6310 CNRS/Université de Nantes) and Hadil Karawani (University of Konstanz). Demirdache presented ongoing research entitled "Analytic Tense as Subordination: Evidence from Moroccan Arabic," which is joint work with Hafida Iguir. Karawani presented ongoing research entitled "Past and Perfect: Modality without Modals." The local organizing committee consisted of Josep Quer and the PhD students Emanuela Pinna and Aikaterini Thomopoulou.
