COLT: Computational Linguistics and Linguistic Theory
Computational Linguistics and Linguistic Theory (COLT)
We are a research group that focuses on the study of language and cognition in humans and machines from an interdisciplinary perspective, combining methods from artificial intelligence, cognitive science, and linguistics. Some of the questions that interest us are: How do (artificial and natural) cognitive systems acquire and use language? Which aspects of communication are specifically human, which are shared with other species and with artificial systems? How did language evolve, and how do languages change? What is universal in language, what subject to variation?
