BERG research group

BERG

Biomedical Electronics Research Group

Performs leading research on biomedical electronics and bioelectricity.

BERG is part of the research unit BCN Medtech, within the Department of Engineering of Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona.

  • BERG focuses its research on bioelectrical phenomena and, in particular, on exploring the use of these phenomena for developing new methods and devices for biomedical applications.
  • Currently its main research topics are electroporation, mainly for cancer treatments and cardiac arrhythmia management, and implantable electronics, mainly for neuroprosthetics, neuromodulation, and remote patient monitoring.

Treatment and diagnosis
mediated by electric currents.
